1. Who we are

GameClash is a collection of puzzle and word games on gameclash.app and in the GameClash app for iPhone and iPad. GameClash is responsible for processing your personal data. Have a question about your data? Get in touch with us.

  • GameClash
  • Contact form

2. What data we use

  • Your account: username, avatar, email address, password (only stored encrypted), language, when you joined, your balance of coins, diamonds and tickets, your style items, album and daily gift streak.
  • Signing in with Apple or Google: an account code from Apple or Google and, if shared, your email address (with Apple sometimes an anonymous relay address). For Apple we also keep an encrypted key, so we can revoke the link when you delete your account.
  • Playing: the moves you make and when, your scores, results, participation in duels, the daily challenge and rankings, and every booking of stakes and rewards. During a round we also keep a random code for the device or browser tab you play on, so a round only runs in one place at a time.
  • App and device: when you open the app and start a game, the app version, the platform (for example iOS), the device type and the system version.
  • How you found us: if you reach the website through an ad or campaign link, we keep with your account which page you arrived on, the campaign details from the link and the Google or Meta click code if the link contained one. This shows us which campaigns work. We don't use tracking cookies for this and don't send this data to Google or Meta.
  • Signing in and security: a session cookie, the IP address and browser details of your session, and briefly your IP address on login attempts to prevent abuse. If you sign in on the website with the app, we briefly keep which browser asked for access, so you can see in the app what you approve.
  • Purchases: the pack, the amount, the currency, the payment status and the transaction code from Apple or Mollie, plus a random account code to add your coins to the right account. We never receive your bank or card details.
  • Ads (app only): if you choose to watch an ad for bonus coins, we keep that you received the reward and which duel it belonged to, if any.
  • Push notifications (app only): if you allow notifications, an encrypted device code and your notification preferences.
  • Prizes: how many tickets you entered in which draw. If you win a prize we need to deliver, your name, email address and, if needed, your address. We keep these encrypted.
  • Contact: when you send us a message, your name, email address, the topic, your message and, if you're signed in, your username. We also keep a technical log of sending it, so we can fix problems.

3. Why, and on what basis

  • Your account and the game: to let you sign in, play games, calculate scores and results, add rewards and deliver prizes. This is necessary to perform our agreement with you.
  • Purchases: to process your payment and add your coins exactly once. This is also necessary for the agreement. We keep financial records because the law requires it.
  • Fair play and safety: to prevent cheating, abuse and fraud and to keep our platform secure. We do this based on our legitimate interest and that of all players.
  • Improving: to understand how GameClash is used and to fix problems. This is also our legitimate interest. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on the website for this.
  • Emails about your account: to confirm your email address, reset your password and let you know when something changes on your account. These emails are needed for your account. We never send you a newsletter without your consent.
  • Newsletter: if you have a confirmed email address, we send you our newsletter about new games, prizes and special offers. This is our legitimate interest. You can unsubscribe at any time, under Settings in your account or with the unsubscribe link in every newsletter. Emails about the results of your duels only come if you turn them on yourself.
  • Push notifications and ad preferences: only with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • Contact: to answer your question.

4. What other players see

Other players see your username, avatar and avatar frame, your scores and results in duels, your place in rankings and the daily challenge, and your public profile with game statistics. If you win a prize, participants in that draw see your username and avatar. Your email address, balance and contact details are never visible to other players.

5. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data. We only share what's needed with partners who help us run GameClash:

  • Hosting and server providers that run our website, app server and database.
  • Roviox for sending emails and the newsletter and answering contact messages. For the newsletter, Roviox keeps your email address, username, language and newsletter choice.
  • Mollie for payments on the website.
  • Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and push notifications.
  • Google for Sign in with Google and, in the app only, ads through Google AdMob. Where required, we first ask for your ad preferences through Google.

Apple, Google and Mollie also use some data for their own purposes. Their own privacy statements apply to that. Otherwise we only pass on data when the law requires us to.

6. Data outside Europe

Some partners, such as Apple and Google, may also process data outside the European Economic Area. This only happens with the safeguards privacy law requires, such as a decision of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep data

  • We keep your account data for as long as your account exists.
  • When you delete your account, we immediately erase your email address, password, Apple and Google links, prize contact details, notification preferences and device codes. You can no longer sign in afterwards.
  • Results and bookings are kept, so duels, rankings and other players' balances stay correct. Your username may therefore remain visible with old results.
  • We keep payment records for seven years, because tax law requires it.
  • We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle your question, and no longer than two years after that.
  • Security data, such as sessions and login attempts, is kept briefly and cleaned up automatically.

8. Security

We protect your data as well as we can. Connections are encrypted, passwords are only stored encrypted, and sensitive data such as prize contact details and device codes is encrypted as well. Only authorized administrators can access the data they need for their work.

9. Cookies and browser storage

The website only uses functional cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, a security cookie against form abuse and a cookie that remembers your chosen language. In your own browser we keep your sound and music choice, some game preferences and a random code per tab, so a round only runs in one place at a time. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on the website, so we don't ask consent for them either.

10. Age

GameClash is meant for players aged 16 and over. If you're younger, you may only play with permission from your parent or guardian. If we find out that a younger child has an account without that permission, we may delete the account.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to the use of your data, restrict its use or request your data in a common file format. If you gave consent, for example for push notifications, you can withdraw it at any time.

You can manage a lot yourself: change your username, avatar, email address, password and language in Settings, turn off notifications in the app, and delete your account in Settings on the website or under Profile in the app. For anything else, get in touch with us. We respond within one month.

Not happy with how we handle your data? Let us know. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

12. Changes

When GameClash changes, we update this statement. At the top you can see when that last happened. For important changes we let you know in advance, for example by email or in the app.

Please also read our terms and conditions.
